Students excited about their textbooks

The financial donations given to Educate Uganda through the CL Werner Foundation have promoted educational opportunities for the students we serve.  In 2010 we received the first donation from their foundation.  This gift enabled us to construct a four-classroom structure at one of our partner primary schools.  This support from your foundation, also raised awareness in Omaha of the work Educate Uganda was doing and helped increase our donor base.  The CL Werner Foundation has provided six generous donations.  With these gifts Educate Uganda constructed classrooms at three of our partner schools, we constructed staff housing at one of our partner schools and supplied many of our 28 primary partner schools with desperately needed textbooks.  It is difficult to quantify the number of lives your financial gifts have touched.  However, with certainty, we know your gifts improved the lives of hundreds of students at each of the schools impacted.

The classrooms provide safety and consistency in the students’ ability to attend school.  The staff housing enables our partner schools to hire the best teachers in the area and to add sustainability programs to the schools such as gardens and raising livestock.  The textbooks were such a gift to the students who had been sharing one book among four or five students. Words never express the depth of gratitude that Educate Uganda feels and more importantly the feelings of the students, teachers and guardians in Uganda.  “May God reward you abundantly!” and “I have nothing to give you but my prayers.” Are the two sentiments I here over and over from the people your gifts serve.
